Client: New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT)
Locations: Nauru, Marshall Islands, Pohnpei, Palau
Project: The New Zealand Aid Programme, administered by MFAT, is supporting the implementation of renewable energy projects for Pohnpei, Republic of Marshall Islands, Palau and Nauru, with the objective of increasing access to electricity through the provision of on-grid solar PV that may replace existing diesel energy generation or expand generation to supply more households.
Elemental Power and Renewables identified least-cost pathways for the main islands of these countries to meet their electricity sector renewable energy targets, provided concept design and technical specifications of appropriate MFAT projects to contribute to these pathways, and managed the tender process to procure construction services. Elemental Environment provided Environmental and Social Impact Assessments to support these projects.
