Kate is the Chair of Elemental Board and heads up the Environment and Sustainability team. She is an expert in environmental risk and risk communication, and is experienced at facilitating clear communication across multiple disciplines. She has over 15 years’ experience in geology and environmental management and climate change in the Pacific. Kate is the Elemental Health and Safety Officer, and takes pride in implementing our Health and Wellbeing initiatives.

Kate is dedicated to mapping the energy sectors commitment to achieving a net-zero position in line with New Zealand’s INDCs, and is a strong promoter of energy equity.

Kate also sits on the New Zealand Familial Breast and Ovarian Cancer Trust Board. She enjoys scuba diving, and volunteers her time to coastal clean-up.



Nick heads up the Energy Transition team. Whether it be exploration or development, operations or studies, his team has the capability and track record to meet your needs. Nick represents the Associate Members and is the Deputy Chair of the Energy Resources Aotearoa Board, and he enjoys swimming and snowboarding.



Brett has over 27 years’ experience in energy businesses. This has involved joint venture management, asset management, field development planning, financial analysis, asset sales and purchase, well construction, stimulation, production optimisation, reservoir modelling and team building.

He is a lifeguard, and competitor with the Fitzroy Surf Lifesaving Club.



Andrew heads up the New Energy team, focusing on renewables. He has over 20 years’ experience in energy projects, ranging in size from $2m to $20bn, from unconventional oil and gas, to hydrogen, to renewables, including wind and solar. He is also a Financial Modeller, and brings his F1F9 experience to the Group.

He enjoys D.I.Y projects and spending a little time at the gym.



Steve is Managing Director of Elemental Group Australia and leads Elemental Decommissioning and Wells. He has over 18 years’ experience in drilling and completions working from the highlands of Papua New Guinea to the deep waters off Australia’s North West Shelf. He has worked with supermajors, independents and small operators.

In his spare time Steve races mountain bikes at an elite level throughout Australia and New Zealand.



Trevor leads our Energy Efficiency and Carbon Management service, and supports our wind energy work. He is an accredited energy auditor, carbon and energy management professional, certified measurement and verification professional, a chartered engineer and a fellow of the Energy Institute UK. Prior to 6 years in energy management, his 20 years’ experience in wind energy development culminated in securing a $1b portfolio of projects for a leading generator-retailer.

Trevor likes sailing and jazz, but can’t play an instrument.
